Community Medicine Curriculum

Residents are encouraged to immerse themselves in the local community; some experiences are incorporated into the curriculum, but there is also plenty of support for extracurricular involvement.

One of the most significant community medicine experiences is with MedsFirst at Gather Church, as discussed in the Addiction Medicine Curriculum here.

As part of an elective, residents can also rotate with a free clinic in Centralia, Health and Hope which has a particular interest in serving uninsured members of our community.

Our residents also have opportunities to engage in home visits, mass sports physicals, and providing care to athletes at local sporting events, like the Seattle-to-Portland bike race.
