Outside of taking care of geriatric patients in our continuity clinic, the Geriatric curriculum is done with 1 week in the PGY1 and 2 weeks in the PGY2/3 years as well as longitudinally.
Residents spend time with our inpatient and outpatient palliative medicine services in all 3 years of residency.
Longitudinal experiences include working with a nursing home together with St Peter Family Medicine residents and dedicated Medicare Wellness Clinics.
Interspersed within the Geriatric weeks are experiences working with a geriatric clinic, hospice, physical therapy/wound clinic and working with the CARES program for a ride-along with our community medics to care for vulnerable geriatric patients.
