Providence St. Peter Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program offers several rotations for students from allopathic and osteopathic medical schools.
We are an approved site for the required third year family medicine clerkship for the University of Washington School of Medicine. The premier medical school for family medicine training in the nation, UW‘s Affiliated Family Medicine Residency Network provides much of the training for its students in family medicine. The 6 week required clerkship is based in the family medicine clinic, where students see patients with a senior resident or family medicine faculty member.
If you are considering a career as a family physician, this opportunity will provide exposure to an excellent training program. We strive to help you become more independent as the rotation progresses and to learn the joys of doctor-patient interactions in a patient-centered medical home.
An advanced rotation of 4 weeks duration for those who wish to expand their skills in either inpatient or ambulatory medicine is available for fourth year students interested in family medicine. The rotation can be tailored to your needs as you work with our residents in the hospital, the office or a mixture of the two. When taking call with the residents, you will cover the full spectrum of patient care with them, including adult and pediatric admissions, deliveries and interesting emergency department cases. We welcome your participation in all aspects of the program during your time with us.
Openings for Sub-Internship rotations are determined in March of the academic year. If you are interested in applying for a potential opening, you may fill out an application and email it along with your CV to SPFM Admin. Applications will be reviewed in April of the academic year, but you can submit it at any time.
