Providence St. Peter Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program offers several rotations for students from allopathic and osteopathic medical schools.
At St. Peter Family Medicine, we offer an advanced four-week sub-internship rotation for those who wish to expand their skills in family medicine. The rotation experience is unique in that you will gain exposure to a wide variety of specialty clinics, inpatient experiences, and weekly didactic learnings. You will spend time learning from senior residents, faculty, and our interdisciplinary team which includes physical therapy, behavioral health, gynecology, and ambulatory care pharmacy. You will cover the full spectrum of patient care including adult and pediatric admissions, deliveries and emergency department cases. A typical four-week rotation consists of one week of inpatient and three weeks of out-patient care. However, the rotation can potentially be modified based on your learning focus.
If you are interested in applying, you may fill out an application and email it along with your CV to SPFM Admin. Complete applications will be reviewed on a first-come first-served basis. Please feel free to reach out any time to check on the status of your application.
We are an approved site for the required third year family medicine clerkship for the University of Washington School of Medicine. The premier medical school for family medicine training in the nation, UW‘s Affiliated Family Medicine Residency Network provides much of the training for its students in family medicine. The 6 week required clerkship is based in the family medicine clinic, where students see patients with a senior resident or family medicine faculty member.
If you are considering a career as a family physician, this opportunity will provide exposure to an excellent training program. We strive to help you become more independent as the rotation progresses and to learn the joys of doctor-patient interactions in a patient-centered medical home.
