Christopher Slack, MD

Dr. Slack was born in Hawaii and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. His formative years in Hawaii were spent in Waianae, a medically underserved area. As a Native Hawaiian, he was raised with the spirit of aloha, working together with neighbors in lokahi (harmony), and cultivating the ‘aina (land), principles he continues to practice to this day. In Flagstaff, he witnessed easily preventable diseases that go untreated due to the many social determinants of health preventing the Navajo and Hopi Nations from receiving equitable care.

Dr. Slack's passion has always been primary care, treating the whole patient, and working in rural-facing, underserved areas. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in biomedical science from Northern Arizona University, he attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine with the intention of becoming a Primary Care Physician. There, Dr. Slack curated his courses and rotations to maximize his training, working with diverse populations with high comorbidities. He chose Providence St. Peter Family Medicine for training because he shares the same vision as this exceptional residency program: “To cultivate competent and caring family physicians through innovative, full-scope, interdisciplinary, and community-oriented education.”

Dr. Slack is very excited to start his career, which he hopes to span here in Olympia, and begin serving his new ‘Ohana. His hobbies include weightlifting, working on his car, and engaging in outdoor activities.
