Dr. Zhang was born in Beijing, China and was raised in Portland, Oregon
as a classic band geek. She attended University of Washington and majored
in biochemistry and chemistry. After graduating, she worked for several
years as a research scientist developing gene therapy for atherosclerosis,
and then as a medical scribe in the ER. She attended Oregon Health &
Science University for medical school. She fell in love with family medicine,
as she loves listening to patients’ stories and building long-lasting
relationships. As a strong proponent of the biopsychosocial approach to
patient care, she is committed to learning about and addressing the many
determinants of health that impact patient well-being. Within family medicine,
she is interested in preventative medicine, mental health, integrative
medicine, and geriatrics. Dr. Zhang enjoys traveling, composing music,
baking, and watching independent movies and detective shows.
