Dr. Babinchak grew up in Pennsylvania before moving to Scotland to study international relations. After several years working in the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia, she transitioned into nonprofit work, serving on the board of The UnMentionables, working with war refugees around the world. She attended medical school at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane Australia, where she spent time in isolated communities in the bush and volunteered in Papua New Guinea. She completed clinical work in New Orleans, Louisiana and is thrilled to join the St Peter Family Medicine program and finally stay put in one area for more than 2 years! She has a particular love of international, rural and crisis medicine. When she’s not in clinic or advocating to legislators, she’s cooking, competing-poorly- in triathlons, or planning her next trip.
