How to Apply

Seven residents will be selected for the first-year positions at the Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency program. Only applicants who are enrolled in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) will be considered for first year positions in these programs. Residents enter the program with the understanding that they are joining an integrated three-year program and will complete the residency, if the experience is mutually satisfactory to the resident and the Providence St. Peter Hospital Family Medicine Residency Programs.

We extend interview offers to applicants after thoroughly reviewing their application. You must have completed the following to be considered for interview:

Completed ERAS application which must contain the following
  • Less than 2 years out from medical school graduation, when residency begins
  • Personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation - one must be from an outpatient family medicine physician with whom you have rotated.
  • Licensing Examination Scores which you have passed within two attempts. We accept either:
    • United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Steps I, II CK
    • Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Exam (COMLEX) Levels 1, 2-CE & 2-PE.

Once applicants have been issued an invitation to interview, we request that they answer the supplemental program questions so that we might get to know them better.

At this time, we do not accept emailed applications or CVs. Please submit all applications materials via ERAS. We use ERAS for review applications and Thalamus for virtual interviews. Find more information about out virtual interview schedule on our FAQ- general page.
