We offer an unopposed residency program in a community-based hospital that provides comprehensive, full scope family medicine training.
We have been recognized as a high level patient-centered medical home (PCMH) and have been training residents to be excellent full scope family physicians for more than 30 years. Residents have the unique opportunity to learn in a multidisciplinary setting including behaviorist, pharmacist, and physical therapist faculty members to provide our patients with the best care possible.
St. Peter Family Medicine was the first family medicine residency program that received Osteopathic recognition in Washington state, and we encourage our DO residents to incorporate their osteopathic treatment in their continuity clinic.
As an intern, you will start by solidifying your foundation in inpatient OB, pediatrics, and medicine, while also enjoying one full day of clinic per week, thanks to our Clinic First Curriculum. In your second year, the 2 weeks block curriculum is designed to help you perfect the continuity clinic experience. As a third-year resident, you will benefit from the longitudinal curriculum, which offers numerous opportunities for electives and specialty clinics.
We are located on the beautiful Puget Sound near the Olympic and Mt. Rainier National Parks providing plenty of outdoor opportunities for you to explore! Along the I-5 corridor you can visit Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and even travel south to Portland.
