Applicant Requirements

Prior to the start of the program, the resident must be a graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Washington. Residents not licensed as a pharmacist at the beginning of the residency must be licensed as a pharmacy intern in the state of Washington. The applicant must meet all the requirements for employment at PCH or PSPH and meet the professional requirements of the Department of Pharmacy. Strong residency candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, professionalism and leadership, and demonstrate a commitment to the provision of pharmaceutical care. Candidates for the pharmacy practice residency must participate in the ASHP resident matching program.

How to Apply

To be eligible for the Providence St. Peter Hospital Residency and/or Providence Centralia Hospital Residency, please complete the following via PhORCAS by the deadline listed:

  • A letter of general introduction and interest, stating reasons for applying
  • An updated resume or curriculum vitae
  • Three professional references
  • One official copy of college of pharmacy transcripts

The ASHP resident matching program results will be posted in March. Once posted, eligible candidates must complete a Providence employment application. Note: Providence employment application is not required for residency application.
