2022 Interview Season
Providence Portland Internal Medicine Residency In-Person Second Look Days
-
We will be offering the opportunity to visit the Providence Portland Internal
Medicine residency
in-person on January 31st, 2023 and February 7th, 2023. There will be an in-person dinner to meet with current residents on January
30th and February 6th, 2023. This opportunity is only available to interviewed
applicants.
- The day will tentatively take place from 9am until 1:40pm and will include
the opportunity to meet with program leadership, current residents, take
a tour of the hospital and clinic, and attend noon conference and resident
report conference. The day will NOT include any interviews.
-
Attendance at a second-look day will have no bearing on ranking of applicants
whatsoever. Please attend ONLY if you feel a visit to our program will help you decide
if our training program is the right fit for you. We anticipate that the
vast majority of applicants
will not come for a second-look.
- If you are possible interested in attending a second-look session, please
email Bryony Owen (bryony.owen@providence.org) with your 1st and 2nd choice dates.
Applications will be accepted only through
ERAS - the Electronic Residency Application Service. All positions will be filled through the
NRMP - National Residency Matching Program. Traditionally, all of our positions fill and we do not have available
positions post-Match.

For the 2023 ERAS cycle, our program will be collecting and reviewing data
from applicants' supplemental ERAS application. Completion of the standard
MyERAS application is a
requirement; completion of the supplemental ERAS application is
optional.
- The supplemental ERAS application is designed to help applicants share
more information about themselves and assist our program in finding applicants
that fit our program's setting and mission.
-
The supplemental ERAS application provides:
- geographic preferences (by division and by urban or rural setting);
- information about an applicant's most meaningful experiences and other
impactful life events, if applicable; and
- program signals.
Interviews
- All interviews are conducted virtually. We have designed an interview day
we believe best captures the personal feel of our program so you can discover
the best fit learning environment for yourself.
- Interviews begin early November and extend through mid-January.
- Invitations are extended after thorough review of each application.
- We use a 3rd party software to manage our interview scheduling.
