Salary and Benefits

Resident salaries are the same at all Providence hospitals and are competitive with other residency programs in Portland. These salaries do not include compensation for medical, dental, liability, life insurance and other additional paid benefits.

Effective salaries are:

  • PGY1 - $64,310
  • PGY2 - $66,815
  • PGY3 - $69,530
  • Additional Financial Support includes:
    • Annual Housing Stipend - $4000
    • Annual Wellness Stipend - $500
    • Annual CME Fund - $500 in PGY1 year; $1500 in PGY2 & PGY3 years
    • Hood River residents receive a Rural Transition Stipend of $1500 to help with moving expenses to Hood River at the end of intern year
    • Food Allowance: $2406
    • Courses: BLS/ACLS, NRP and PALS all reimbursed.
    • USMLE Step 3 reimbursed.
