We require that international medical graduates have active, unrestricted ECFMG certificates. We require a clinical rotation of at least 8 weeks duration that involves DIRECT PATIENT CARE, with at least 6 weeks in a family medicine office in the United States for all applicants. We also require applicants to have graduated from medical school within 1 year of beginning training in our program.
We do not sponsor visas; we do accept ECFMG sponsored J1 visas. We do not consider applications with only an EAD visa. You must be eligible to work in the United States by June 1 of the academic year in which you begin training (example: 6/1/25 for academic year 25-26).
No. We accept only those applications submitted through the ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) system. Please contact the ECFMG if you need additional information on applying through the ERAS system.
