  • Mikal Achtner

    Mikal Achtner, MD

    Dr. Mikal Achtner is joining us from University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado, her home state. Dr. Achtner is passionate about rural family medicine. During her education in Colorado, Dr. Achtner organized several volunteer student interest groups, including one in Rural Family Medicine and one in Wilderness Medicine. Her hobbies include backpacking, painting, travel and music.

    Nicole Kashani, MD

    Dr. Nicole Kashani graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Marteen, Netherlands. Dr. Kashani comes from Tarzana, California. Dr. Kashani is passionate about treating underserved communities and has volunteered to serve the homeless community at multiple organizations in the Los Angeles area. Her hobbies include camping, hiking, and spending time with her family.

    Zachary Nankee, DO

    Dr. Zach Nankee was raised on a dairy farm in the Midwest. He went to medical school at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He loves teaching: he has taught at Community Colleges and Universities such as UW: Madison and UIC: Chicago. He enjoys horseback riding, hiking, epistemology and nerf guns. If he has ear phones on, he is most likely listening to a non-fiction Audiobook, The Piano Guys, or a musical comic.

    Dr. Margot Oliver joins us from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Oliver is from McKinleyville , California. Dr. Oliver is passionate about the holistic approach of patient care found in Family Medicine.

    Dr. Sean Purtell is joining us from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Purtell is from Petaluma, California. Dr. Purtell is passionate about the impact that family medicine has on the lives of individuals, families, and their greater communities. His hobbies include cycling, spending time outdoors, and spending time with his family.

  • Anirudh Rai

    Anirudh Rai, MD

    Dr. Anirudh Rai is joining us from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. Dr. Rai is from Reseda, California. Dr. Rai’s passion for family medicine derives from the life story he learns from each of his patients. His hobbies include playing multiple musical instruments (piano, violin, guitar and more), as well as boxing, hiking and bird watching.

    Dr. Shenoda Abd Elmaseh graduated from the Washington University of Health and Sciences and Sohag University Faculty of Medicine. He has been living in Huntington Beach, California. He chose family medicine because he realized that this field offers the opportunity to commit himself to serve patients who have needs in all areas of medicine. His hobbies include reading, listening to music, walking and running.

    Dr. Josh Echeverria grew up in Hacienda Heights, CA. Shortly after earning his B.S. degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he joined the Peace Corps and served as a community health volunteer in Mozambique. Giving health seminars and working with people living with HIV made him realize that helping people was his life's calling. He completed his medical degree at Our Lady of Fatima University in Manila, Philippines, and is looking forward to helping people in Humboldt County.

    Dr. Yehuda Fox is joining us from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Fox seeks to contribute to his community by building trusting relationships with his patients and their loved ones. He has lived in and traveled to over 30 countries, and enjoys mountain biking, camping, and working on his motorcycle.

    Dr. Ramir Geluz is from Highland, California. He likes the wide range of clinical topics in family medicine and enjoys meeting families of all ages. His hobbies including listening to music, playing the piano, barbecuing, and playing card games.

  • Jesus Mendez

    Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

    Dr. Jesus Mendez is coming from New England after spending the last few years at the Dartmouth University Geisel School of Medicine. He grew up in Las Vegas and is excited to be returning to the West Coast. Dr. Mendez is interested in eventually working in rural family medicine. He enjoys trying new things and hobbies but also enjoys relaxing on a rocking chair on a porch.

    Dr. Milad Najar Ranjbar is determined and hardworking when it comes to achieving goals. His main goal in life is self-improvement, as well as spiritual and character growth and development. Dr. Najar Ranjbar is looking forward to his residency in Eureka because he believes it will help in his path to achieving those goals.
