PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program
PGY2 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education
and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners
with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency
areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who
successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced
patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification in
the advanced practice area, if available.
Swedish Medical Center’s ASHP-accredited PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy
Residency Program has been training the next generation of critical care
pharmacy leaders since 2020. Our mission is to create an environment for
residents to master critical care pharmacotherapy, develop their own progressive
practice, and lead the profession forward through innovation, education,
and collaboration. We want our residents to feel both challenged and supported
as they take ownership of their growth and aspirations. Training at a
community health system within Washington State affords our residents
the opportunity to practice autonomously at the top of their license as
an essential stakeholder within the healthcare team. We currently offer
1 PGY2 critical care pharmacy resident position.
