Swedish GME offers exemplary hands-on learning experiences to regional
and national medical students.
The Swedish GME office offers learning experiences for the following student types:
If you are a Pharmacy Student, please email the Pharmacy Coordinator.
If you are a health care student not listed above, please email Swedish Clinical Education. If you are arranging a rotation as a candidate for Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Allied Health Professional (e.g., medical assistant, radiology technician, physical therapist, audiologist, etc.) please email the Clinical Education team.
Medical students are learners enrolled in a University or Medical College program culminating in medical degree: MD/DO, PA, or DPM.
If you are arranging for a rotation as a candidate for MD/DO, DPM, PA, Graduate Medical Education (GMEOnboarding@swedish.org) handles your onboarding. Your home institution coordinator must contact GME to ensure we have an active Affiliation Agreement with your medical school.
Students must work with their home institution/program to be setup for a rotation at Providence Swedish. Home institutions/programs must have and existing preceptor who has agreed to train their student and an active Affiliation Agreement in order for Swedish GME to process a rotation application.
PLEASE NOTE- If your home institution/program does not have an agreement with one of our providers as a Preceptor we cannot go forward with an Affiliation Agreement. If your medical school does not handle placements, please visit swedish.org/physicians to find a provider and contact them directly to arrange placement. GME is not authorized to provide emails for our medical staff listed on this site.
Swedish GME office does NOT handle placements with providers.
Affiliation Agreements are required to be active for all schools prior to the beginning of the rotation; please verify that your institution has an agreement in place with Swedish Health Services dba Swedish Medical Center (in Washington State) before applying.
The Swedish Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office will gladly facilitate a new agreement with your school prior to your rotation. Please have the appropriate contact at your school reach out to GMEOnboarding to begin this process. Allow 8-12 weeks prior to your rotation to fully execute the agreement and complete the onboarding process.
After your home institution has secured a preceptor for your training and
completed all Affiliation Agreement requirements, you will receive an
email communication instructing you to complete an Onboarding Checklist,
which will request Required Documents/ Immunizations and eLearning modules.
Please complete this checklist as soon as possible, but no later than
two weeks before your proposed rotating start date.

Paramedic onboarding at Swedish Providence is a lot like our medical student protocol. The medical school who would like to bring paramedic student to Providence Swedish to train, will need to reach out independently to our medical staff and contract with a provider to be their preceptor.
