Swedish Advanced Hospital Medicine Fellowship

747 Broadway Seattle, WA 98122

Yaghmai siteThe Swedish Hospitalist Fellowship was started in 2008 to provide additional training opportunities in hospital and critical care medicine for family medicine graduates. We currently accept 3 fellows a year. Whether your goal is rural or international work, increased job opportunities in urban markets, or bringing a broader skill set to an academic setting, we have the resources and desire to help you along, and we’re delighted you’ve decided to take a look at our program.

Swedish Hospital was founded in 1910, and over time grew to be the largest non-profit hospital system in the Seattle area. Swedish recently merged with Providence Health and Services, becoming part of a much broader network, however there are five hospitals in the Swedish system itself, ranging from large, tertiary referral centers to smaller, community hospitals. Swedish offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment options, including transplant, and complex cardiac and neurosurgery, and routinely treats medical and surgical patients with very complicated problems, while still seeing plenty of patients with more common disorders. By doing your fellowship at Swedish, you will have access to the learning opportunities inherent to a system with around 1500 beds, a variety of ICUs, two family medicine residencies, and over 6,000 doctors on staff, including a very large, experienced hospitalist group, and nearly every medical and surgical specialty and subspecialty. If you want a particular training experience, it is likely we can arrange it for you, and it would be our pleasure to do so.
