Providence Holy Family Hospital was originally built in 1964 and in the years since, has continued to keep pace with the changing health needs of the community as well as the rapid development of medical technology and health care. Our hospital is a community-based, comprehensive, and progressive acute care hospital located in Spokane, Washington. The hospital is currently licensed for 197 beds with an average daily census of 120 patients. Multiple services are offered including but not limited to: emergency medicine, critical care, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology. The pharmacy department is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team at Providence Holy Family and is involved in all aspects of the patient care process.
Holy Family Hospital is a PGY1 pharmacy residency program with its first class of residents completing the program in June of 2020. Pharmacy residents at Providence Holy Family Hospital will build on the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities gained from a professional pharmacy degree program to improve clinical knowledge, leadership abilities, process development, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Our program is designed to meet the American Society of Health System Pharmacists requirements and residents will work in a patient centered learning environment to receive a well-rounded education. Residents will encounter a diverse patient population with predominantly acute care rotations as well as ambulatory experiences. Residents will learn all aspects of hospital pharmacy including clinical, administration, and drug distribution.
