How to Apply

Applicant requirements

Prior to the start of the program, the resident shall be a graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and shall be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Washington. Residents not licensed as a pharmacist at the beginning of the residency must be licensed as a pharmacy intern in the state of Washington.

The applicant shall meet all the requirements for employment and meet the professional requirements of the Department of Pharmacy. Strong residency candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, professionalism and leadership, and demonstrate a commitment to the provision of pharmaceutical care. Candidates must participate in the ASHP resident matching program.

To be eligible for the Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Residency, please complete the following via the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) by January 2nd.

  • A one-page* letter of general introduction and interest, stating reasons for applying
  • An updated resume or curriculum vitae
  • Three letters** of professional recommendations
  • One official copy of college of pharmacy transcripts
