Meet Our Residents

Crystal Rim, PharmDRyan Ferris, PharmD

Pharmacy school: Oregon State University/Oregon Health & Science University

Providence provides numerous rotations to its residents to give a well-rounded experience in acute, ambulatory, and managed care. As part of an extensive health system, there are countless opportunities to achieve my goals and developing interests. At Providence Newberg and Milwaukie, I love being a part of a smaller community hospital, allowing for more individual, hands-on learning that is hard to beat. I continually feel that my professional growth and personal development are highly valued, with my future success always taking the highest priority. This program has delivered everything I envisioned in a PGY-1 residency, with the opportunity to work alongside welcoming preceptors while engaging in projects that progress patient care.

Professional Interests: Psychiatric Pharmacy, Ambulatory Care, Internal Medicine

Hobbies: Growing my vinyl and plant collection, traveling, hiking, camping, discovering new restaurants, and coffee shops.

The moment I walked into a Providence facility as an APPE student, I was greeted with hospitality and opportunities to grow professionally. Providence is a place full of opportunities to hone clinical competency and knowledge with its integrative and progressive culture. I believed the curriculum will not only help me become more competent and more confident, but it also allows me to further explore and establish my interest in pharmacy. It is also a place where I can call home, particularly at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. As a student who completed two APPE rotations at Providence Milwaukie, I loved the dynamic of the team, the mentors I have met, and the encouragement I’ve been given throughout my rotations. I am honored to be part of this residency program. I am excited to see how I will grow personally and professionally throughout the year as I continue to work collaboratively with various healthcare workers to serve the Portland population.
