Access to quality healthcare is paramount to ensuring healthy populations, and is central to our Providence mission of caring for the poor and vulnerable. Within the pharmacy division at Providence Health Plan, we focus on developing and applying evidence-based medication use strategies that enhance member and population health outcomes while optimizing health care resources.

As part of the integrated Providence delivery system, our team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, coordinators, and business analysts work collaboratively with innovative leaders at the health plan as well as within our system hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to deliver quality care to those who choose us for care. In addition to learning the core principles of managed care focused on formulary, utilization management, and benefit design for traditional and specialty medications, residents also gain experience in medication therapy management, quality management, pharmacy systems, analytics, and value based care. Combined with leadership experiences and a focus on operational excellence, graduating residents are prepared to work in managed care organizations tackling some of healthcare’s biggest challenges.
