Pharmacy School: Oregon State University Doctor of Pharmacy Program | Corvallis, OR; Portland, OR
Current Residency Project: TBD
Why I Chose Providence: During my fourth year APPE rotation with Providence Health Plan (PHP), I had the wonderful opportunity of learning from amazing preceptors and pharmacy technicians. I experienced how PHP has a supportive and growth-oriented culture, emphasis on its core values, and service for vulnerable and underserved patients. I also saw many opportunities to collaborate with healthcare professionals in Providence’s integrated health system to improve patient outcomes. Finally, I felt that the residency program would meet my learning priorities with its balanced mix of longitudinal experiences for core managed care areas, focused rotations for areas such as ambulatory care and specialty medications, and teaching certificate program. All these aspects of PHP fit my goal of becoming a well-rounded and compassionate managed care pharmacist. At PHP, I hope to be continually challenged, develop how I navigate ethical challenges with patient-centered decisions, and strengthen my leadership skills. I am excited for my match with PHP, and I look forward to continually learning and growing during this residency year!
