Current Residency Project: The Impact of Pharmacist-driven Transition of Care Services on Readmission Rates and Diabetes Outcomes in a Health Plan Setting

Why I Chose Providence: I chose Providence Health Plan because of the emphasis on delivering the best patient centered care. Working for a not-for-profit health plan within an integrated health system will introduce many opportunities to work collaboratively with different health care professionals and will provide me with a challenging and rewarding learning experience. Also, the comprehensive nature of this residency program will allow me to further develop my managed care skills and direct patient care knowledge to prepare me for a successful career at a managed care organization. The opportunity to pursue a teaching certificate and emphasis on leadership development throughout the program were also important to me. Lastly, I was able to see first-hand at my interview the welcoming culture at Providence and the wonderful team of pharmacists I would get to learn from and work alongside. It was an easy decision to choose Providence!
