Orthopedic Residency Program

The Providence orthopedic residency is focused on developing our residents into specialist level clinicians through a multifaceted approach to their education. Our faculty is committed to providing a unique experience to each resident based on each resident’s needs and their goals for the program. We are focused on evidence informed care, sound clinical reasoning, and the development of both hard/technical skills in addition to the soft skills of being an excellent orthopedic physical therapist.

Being a part of the Providence health care system allows for our residents to be able to rotate to multiple clinics throughout the program. This enables exposure to different patient populations, varied diagnoses, co-workers, referral sources, and faculty throughout your program. Our ease of access to physicians and other non-PT rehab clinicians allows for the ability to experience interdisciplinary practice as we care for the whole patient.

Our robust faculty includes many experienced physical therapists and occupational therapists. Many of our faculty have specialty certification in orthopedics and in hand therapy.

The ideal candidate is passionate about orthopedic physical therapy, committed to lifelong learning for themselves and others, is attentive to details, and a team player who embodies the values of Providence at work and in their community.
