Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center

At Providence Sacred Heart Pharmacotherapy Clinic, we strongly believe in the effectiveness of patient-centered, clinical pharmacy practice— a philosophy that is supported across the Providence organization.

The Providence Sacred Heart Pharmacotherapy Clinic (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Programs establishes criteria for residency programs building upon Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Through our PGY-1 pharmacy residency, you will have the opportunity to develop the skills and experience necessary to succeed in a clinical practice setting. As a resident, you will benefit from our unique training program that takes advantage of the wide variety of rotations and learning experiences within ambulatory care settings.

The program offers the chance to provide pharmaceutical care in multiple environments. You will be able to work independently in all areas assigned, work effectively with pharmacists in other areas and be able to supervise or coordinate work for others. You will have opportunities to educate others in the clinic setting and through the WSU College of Pharmacy Teaching Program, participate in research, and analyze and present information.

The goal is for each pharmacy resident to mature in a professional role, be proactive and assertive in interacting with other staff and disciplines, and develop an awareness of local and national pharmacy issues.

This residency site agrees that no person at this site will solicit, accept or use any ranking related information from any residency applicant.
