The rotation is designed to provide training in the evaluation and management of patients with disorders of the spine. It is expected that upon completion of this rotation, fellows will demonstrate an understanding of the anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and presentation of disorders of the spine, its connecting ligaments, the spinal cord, the cauda equina, and the spinal roots.
Additionally fellows will demonstrate the ability to formulate and implement a diagnostic and treatment plan for diseases of the spine, its connecting ligaments, the spinal cord, the cauda equina, and the spinal roots that are amenable to surgical intervention.
