Why I chose Providence Regional Medical Center Everett: I was first introduced to this hospital during my APPE rotations where I completed 5 out of 9 rotations through the Providence Health System. During this time, I particularly enjoyed my oncology and critical care rotations. I enjoyed hands-on learning with a dynamic patient population, specifically, the role Pharmacists play in the diverse cases that present to Providence's Level II Trauma Center. I chose to return to Providence to complete my PGY1 residency because Pharmacists are a valued member of the healthcare team with a large autonomy to participate in patient care. The mentors/preceptors I met along the way offered a delicate balance of challenge and support, which I knew I needed in my first year as a pharmacist.

Why I chose Providence Regional Medical Center Everett: The pharmacy residency program at PRMCE interested me due to the variety of learning experiences available and the numerous opportunities to be involved. In addition to the supportive learning culture, my desire to complete a residency at PRMCE was solidified after learning about the progressive pharmacy practice at this institution and the integration of the pharmacy department in patient care.

Why I chose Providence Regional Medical Center Everett: I chose to apply to residency programs that would offer me a wide array of experiences. These experiences included, first and foremost, rotations in my areas of interest, as well as various other rotation experiences that would make me a well-rounded pharmacist. I also wanted opportunities to engage with hospital committees, and help precept pharmacy students. PRMCE offers all of these experiences and more. However, what really set PRMCE apart was the people here. The preceptors, pharmacy staff, and the chemistry between them is very evident. This chemistry carries over to the physician and nursing teams, where PRMCE pharmacist recommendations are very well received. PRMCE is not only an excellent place to see a wide variety of patients, it’s also a great place to grow a network full of amazing people.

Why I chose Providence Regional Medical Center Everett: One thing that instantly stood out to me about PRMCE is the culture within the pharmacy department, as everyone is warm and welcoming. PRMCE is a level II trauma center, and the pharmacy practice and protocols are among the most progressive I have seen. This means you will have plenty of opportunities to get hands-on experiences in high-acuity settings. Combined with PRMCE's dedication to serving the underserved, these aspects are closely aligned with my professional goals and interests.
