PSSI is located on the campus of Providence Portland Medical Center in Northeast Portland, Oregon.

Simulation Laboratory

The simulation laboratory is well equipped for education courses, team training exercises and simulation research. The simulation laboratory space contains 1,900 square feet and equipment for three full-scale operating room simulations with OR staff. Video equipment and DVD recorders are available to capture room view as well as endoscopic and laparoscopic images.

Classroom/Conference Room Space

The adjoining classroom space contains advanced audio/visual equipment, Polycom teleconference equipment and two 42-inch HD screens with capabilities to provide a live video feed from the operating rooms at Providence Portland Medical Center. Conference tables can be easily configured to create different classroom settings.

Equipment

The simulation laboratory includes state-of-the-art laparoscopic surgical equipment for hands-on training including:

  • Mimic Robotic Surgery Simulator for teaching robotic surgery skills
  • 2 Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) trainer boxes with 19-inch HDTV monitors
  • GI Mentor II Simulator for upper and lower endoscopy, bronchoscopy EUS, ERCP training and FES testing
  • Multiple Olympus Endoscopes and Endoscopy Towers, in addition to Advanced Colonoscope Training Models
