Meet Our Residents

Chris Truong Jacob Long

Pharmacy School: Touro University California College of Pharmacy – Vallejo, CA

Why I chose Providence: I chose the PGY1 program because I wanted a well-rounded residency experience at a large, integrated health system. I liked that Providence Medford offers resident training in both acute care and ambulatory care settings, in addition to a variety of elective options that will allow me to explore new avenues in my clinical experience. During my interview, I really got the sense that the preceptors are dedicated to resident education, and work hard to ensure that residents have opportunities to explore their professional interests, while also cultivating a very positive and friendly learning environment.

Pharmacy School: Pacific University School of Pharmacy – Hillsboro, OR

Why I chose Providence: Providence offers the opportunity to work in a progressive health system in Southern Oregon with experienced and thoughtful caregivers in a variety of fields. Immediately, you feel the compassion and investment Providence has in the success of each resident toward not only their professional goals, but personal goals as well. With opportunities to rotate in both strong ambulatory and inpatient care settings, Providence allows me the ability to develop into a thoughtful, well-rounded caregiver. Throughout the interview process, the culture at Providence showed me that they place an emphasis on developing caregivers who are both educators and professionals. Ultimately, there is a strong feeling of family here and this is what convinced me Providence was the right fit.
