Salary and Benefits


Resident salaries are the same at all Providence hospitals and are competitive with other residency programs in Portland and the Pacific NW. These salaries do not include compensation for medical, dental, liability, life insurance and other additional paid benefits, including a food stipend.

Effective salaries for Academic Year 2023-2024 are:

  • PGY 1 $64,310
  • PGY 2 $66,815
  • PGY 3 $69,530


  • Housing stipend $4000
  • Medical insurance for resident and dependents
  • Wellness stipend $500
  • Health care reimbursement accounts; some with year to year roll over
  • Annual account for continuing medical education (CME)
