Phlebotomy Training in Spokane, WA

Earn-to-Learn

The Earn-to-Learn (ETL) phlebotomy training program was created to meet Providence’s workforce needs and remove financial barriers for those wanting to begin a career in Healthcare. The ETL program operates on an "as needed" basis to support open or anticipated phlebotomy positions.

Each site hires their own Clinical Student Interns and sponsors their education and state license. Participants are paid a training wage of $17.00 per hour while in classroom and clinical rotations. In exchange for sponsorship and paid training, participants sign a 2-year work contract to work for the clinical site.

Spokane training is hosted in-person on the campus of Sacred Heart Medical Center. The paid clinical internship is a full-time, 6-week program that prepares you to work in the hospital or an outpatient setting.

Guaranteed Providence Work Placement: Once training is complete and state license is active, participants can transfer into an open phlebotomy position. Some locations have a float pool or supplemental position where graduates can cover phlebotomy shifts until a permanent position becomes available.

Check Providenceiscalling.org to search for available clinical intern positions.

Self-Pay

Throughout the year, we will open select training spots for self-pay participants. This option does not include a site sponsorship or work agreement. Self-pay participants attend the full 5 days of classroom/simulation training and perform their clinical rotations at an outpatient draw location. Once training is complete, the program will provide required documentation to support obtaining the WA State MA-P license.

Participants completing the program through the self-pay option are eligible to apply to any open position at any employer of their choosing. They are not guaranteed employment at a Providence location but are welcome to apply to open positions for which they qualify.
