About Us
Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children's’ Hospital (PSHMC)
is part of Providence nationally, and Providence Health Care (PHC), which
includes four hospitals, and multiple clinics in Spokane and Stevens Counties.
PSHMC is the largest of these hospitals with over 600 beds, specializing
in comprehensive adult and pediatric care. PSHMC has been ranked the #1
hospital in Eastern Washington and #2 in WA State for the past several years.
The PSHMC Department of Laboratory Medicine performs high complexity and
high-volume testing, which allows the School of Medical Laboratory Science
to provide a wide range of experiences for students during the clinical
year. PSHMC is a teaching hospital, and as a result, students work with
experienced and expert staff who are skilled in educational techniques
and have a commitment to training the next generation of medical laboratorians.
