About Our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency
Program Objectives
Our residency program emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care. The
PGY-1 resident will:
- Expand knowledge of evidence-based medicine
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide safe and
effective patient care to a diverse patient population
- Develop as a leader by strengthening personal, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Contribute to management of formulary and medication-use processes
- Provide effective medication and practice-related education
Program Features
The PGY-1 resident will complete 12 months of experiential rotations. The
length of each rotation may vary depending on the needs and interests
of the resident and additional rotations may be offered at affiliated
institutions, if feasible. The following rotations are available at PHCMC:
- Internal Medicine
- Critical Care
- Antimicrobial Stewardship
- Nutritional Support/Glucose Management
- Oncology (Inpatient/Outpatient)
- Cardiology
- Neonatal Care
- Medication Safety
- Transitions of Care
- Practice Management/Administration
- Staffing
