About Our PGY-1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency

Appointment period: July 1st – June 30th (12 months)

Learning Experiences
Rotations are designed to allow the resident to develop the necessary skills
needed to succeed in acute care practice. Rotation length may vary depending
on the needs and interests of the resident.
Rotations include but are not limited to:
- Orientation/Pharmacy Practice *
- Emergency Medicine *
- Administration/Practice Management *
- Pediatrics/Neonatal *
- General Medicine/Transitions of Care *
- Antimicrobial Stewardship *
- Pharmacy Informatics
- Critical Care *
- Residency Project - Longitudinal

Staffing Requirements
Residents are required to participate as clinical pharmacist on 2 weekends
a month in the transitions of care setting.
Program Goals
- Graduated residents will be trained to be proficient in practical aspects
of acute care pharmacy practice
- Graduated residents will qualified to apply for a PGY-2 Residency or Fellowship
- Graduated residents will be able to precept future residents and students
