St. Joseph of Orange CPE Center in Orange County

Program Overview

Offers three CPE internship units annually.
Open to seminary students, clergy, and laity of all faiths.

Internship Types & Schedule
Extended Part-Time Units (2 per year):
Fall/Winter Unit: September to January.
Winter/Spring Unit: January to May.

Part-time format supports those unable to commit to full-time. Participants may pursue CPE for:

• Basic spiritual caregiving skills.
• Vocational discernment.
• Ordination requirements.
• Board certification (requires 4 units).

Units are ACPE certified and recognized as graduate theological education by ACPE member seminaries.

Full-Time Summer Unit:
June to August. Duration: 11weeks.
Commitment: 40 hours/week.

Additional Details
Interns are not salaried or benefited employees of St. Joseph Health. Completion of one unit allows for application to additional units, but requires: recommendation from both Educator and Preceptor. Admission is not guaranteed for subsequent units.
