Clinical Pastoral Education is a form of professional chaplain education that blends experiential learning, classroom engagement, and supervised clinical practice. Rooted in an action-reflection model, CPE cultivates deep self-awareness, compassionate presence, and effective spiritual care skills. It embraces an interfaith approach, welcoming diverse spiritual traditions and preparing chaplains and spiritual health providers to offer inclusive care in times of crisis, illness, and transition.
Residency CPE- A one-year, full-time program consisting of four units of CPE, offered within one of our local ministry sites for immersive chaplain formation.
Internship CPE- Includes a full-time Summer Unit. In addition to two part-time CPE units, offering flexible options for students and working professionals.
Online CPE- A part-time unit delivered virtually for classroom learning. Clinical sites are arranged by the applicant and must be approved by the CPE program.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelors Degree: Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or the equivalent.
Preferred Requirements - Masters Degree: Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or the equivalent
