Training Committee Member: Elisa Rudd, PsyD

Elisa RuddDr. Elisa Rudd is the Training Director for all Providence Medical Group’s (PMG) Psychology training programs in the Oregon region, which include approximately 30 Practicum students, 5 Interns, and 5 Psychology Residents at present. In addition, Dr. Rudd is the Behavioral Health Clinical Manager of Licensed Psychologists and Behavioral Health Providers in our Primary Care and Internal Medicine clinics in Southern Oregon, Southwest Washington, Hood River, and the Portland Service Area. At Providence, Dr. Rudd also serves as leadership sponsor for the Behavioral Health Provider Diversity Workgroup and is Co-leader for the Department of Behavioral Health’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Prior to her current role, she spent 5.5 years as a Behavioral Health Provider – 1.5 years at a multi-specialty medical clinic, and 4 years at PMG.

After earning her undergraduate degree in psychology (magna cum laude), Dr. Rudd worked in Human Resources as a Training and Education Manager. She went on to complete her M.S. and Ed.S. degrees in Counseling and Human Systems (Rand Fellowship) from Florida State University then provided consulting services for nonprofit organizations such as Children of Incarcerated Parents (aka Forever Family) and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta as well as career counseling services at UNC-Asheville (Associate Director) and Georgia State University. Dr. Rudd completed her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University (Diversity Service Fellow) during which she completed her Internship at Grand Valley State University’s Career and Counseling Center in Michigan. Dr. Rudd’s Postdoctoral Residency work included psychological testing for Insight Psychological Services. During her graduate education, Dr. Rudd worked 8 years for a 24-hour behavioral health crisis and contact center. This organization provides access to behavioral health counseling, debriefing, and crisis services to university counseling centers, hospitals, managed healthcare organizations, state and county crisis lines, and employee assistance programs throughout the U.S., Canada, and in parts of Japan, and Qatar; she responded to and supported more than 35,000 callers during her tenure with ProtoCall Services

Raised in Guam, Dr. Rudd enjoys living in Portland with her wife of 25 years, where she spends her free time hiking, writing, and enjoying all things science fiction.

Psychology Clinical Training Director: Dr. Tyson Payne, PsyD

Elisa RuddDr. Tyson Payne, PsyD, serves as the Behavioral Health Psychology Manager for Licensed Psychologists and Behavioral Health Providers in our Primary Care and Internal Medicine clinics on the Eastside of the Portland and Southwest Washington Service Areas. Dr. Payne earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon in 2017.
