Evidence-Based Medicine

Interns get a formal EBM series of didactics during their I-block rotation. PGY2 residents have a two week EBM rotation with EBM faculty, (a mix of internists, a sub-specialist, and a medical librarian) to learn the core principles of evidence-based medicine. During the rotation each resident works on their own EBM project and presents it to residents and faculty during an EBM themed resident report.

Academically Innovative

“As director of Evidence-Based Medicine, I work hard to make sure EBM is taught in a way that is relevant to our residents. The emphasis is really on how to use evidence to make the best clinical decisions for our patients. You will learn how to effectively search the literature, quickly analyze articles and make decisions in the face of uncertainty.”
