Dr. Joy Berbano grew up in the Philippines, where she loved visiting rural
communities, whether by the sea or in the mountains, and connecting with
the people there. These early experiences sparked her passion for medicine
and shaped her desire to make a difference in underserved areas. She went
on to earn her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay
Memorial Medical Center.
Drawn to the natural beauty and a strong sense of community in Humboldt,
Dr. Berbano found a great match for her passion. She values continuity
of care and meeting patients where they are both medically and culturally.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Berbano unwinds through listening to history podcasts, being outdoors, diving in high fantasy novels and games, and singing in a choir. She’s also a proud mom who cherishes time with her family.
